Department Hosts 3rd Annual “Love is…A Full Plate”
On Friday February 5th, 2016, the Hospitality and Tourism Management Department hosted the 3rd Annual “Love Is…A Full Plate” dinner, silent auction and book signing to benefit End Hunger CT! Michelin Star Chef and Restaurant Owner, Chef Mendes, attended and spoke at the event in support of End Hunger CT! Chef Mendes also interacted with the guests and signed copies of his cookbook, My Portugal: Recipes and Stories.
Focusing on Carnaval, the event featured a four course dinner that took guests on a journey around the world. During the cocktail hour, the guests were able to taste some samplings from My Portugal: Recipes and Stories. Guests were also able to take part in both a silent and live auction which included Knicks tickets, a dinner provided by the Hospitality Department with a wine tasting, and various baskets. The event was prepared and executed by the students in the HTMG 4480-(01) Resort Operations & Property Management Capstone 2 course.
