Hazell Nut Café

The irresistible aromas stir your senses from 20 feet down the hall, but once you step inside the doorway, you’ll see there’s serious business going on. The Café is completely student-run by the Hospitality program’s Food Service Management class.

Established in 2007 by UNH alumnus Jeffery Hazell, the Hazell Nut Café is an on-site ‘lab’ and training facility where students find out, first-hand, what it takes to run a business. Sophomore students are responsible for the management of the entire operation, including staff training, menu development, marketing, product purchasing (working with local suppliers), inventory management, accounting, sales and revenue management, and financial forecasting.

The Café offers a variety of beverages, including coffee (Jamaica Gourmet Coffee Company), iced coffee, signature teas, and our signature student branded products such as Charger Water and Charger Soda. The Café also offers a variety of freshly baked goods, gourmet pizzas, salads and sandwiches.
