Story of Bacardi: The Last 100 Years
On March 24th, 2015, the Hospitality and Tourism Management Department welcomed backBacardi Brand Master, David Cid, for an elite tasting of Bacardi classics and new inventions. This event was part of the HTMG 4452 Story of Rum: From the Colonies to Bacardi course and allowed both students enrolled in that course and other students, faculty and staff to enjoy a five flight rum tasting while learning. David currently serves as Brand Master for the House of Rum at Bacardi USA, which includes partaking in the sensory analysis of rums via the Quality Control Tasting Panel, consulting on Product Research & Development, and serving as a point of reference for the media. He has been featured in such networks and publications as Univision, Fusion, and Chilled Magazine among others.
